New Music Festival

The 3rd annual New Music Fest is a live music festival in Barrie ON scheduled for September 16th -19th, 2010. The festival will feature over 110 live touring artists of various genres, performing a series of concerts/showcases at Barrie’s finest live music venues.

New Music Awards

The New Music Awards will act as a wrap up to the Festival and is being held on Sunday Sept 19th 2010. The 2010 awards ceremony will feature over 20 different award categories for independent artists Nationally with the exception of the "Best International" category.

Associated Charity

A portion of the proceeds are going to the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund, a bold non-profit initiative, designed to integrate, educate, celebrate and promote all facets of music therapy in Canada. Music Therapy is a method of treatment, which uses music to help people cope more effectively with their lives and their challenges. Music therapists can encourage non-speaking children to communicate, youngsters who are emotionally upset to trust and people in hospices to find some respite from their loneliness and pain. Elderly men and women eagerly respond to music in their lives.
